Juan Jorge Olveda

Juan was born on October 29, 1949 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila to the late Andres H. Olveda and Eva Viilla Olveda He was raised in Piedras Negras, Coahuila and then moved to Crystal City, Texas while in his teens. He later moved to Galveston, Texas where he made his home. Juan joined the Boiler Makers Local 132, where he worked as a welder for over 40 years. Juan retired from welding in 2016. Juan passed away on April 13, 2022.
Juan loved the Dallas Cowboys and Lakers. Juan enjoyed fishing. Juan when he was younger played soccer and became a referee.
Juan loved his grand-daughters, Gabriela, Giada & Liliana with all his heart.
Juan was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Olveda Perez from Crystal City, TX and sister, Maria de Jesus Olveda Salinas. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Olveda T. and his son, Andres Olveda (Jennifer Gallegos). He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Alvarez (Marcial Alvarez); sister Maria Inez Davila and brother Emilio Olveda Villa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, TX on April 20, 2022. From 11 AM – 12PM Service from 12 pm – 1 PM
Juan will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.
