Juanita Harriet Brown

Juanita H. Brown age 79, passed away on November 12, 2025, surrounded by family.

Juanita was born on September 23, 1946, in Queens, NY to Mercedes and LeRoy Hill Sr. She went to Central Commercial H.S. where she learned secretarial skills. One of her earliest jobs was working for AT&T as an operator. Juanita lived the first half of her life in Queens and moved to Columbus Ohio in 1990.

She loved all things fashion, especially shoes and handbags. She also enjoyed sewing, paper crafts and dance, particularly ballet. She danced in her younger years and again as an adult at Gloria Jackson Dance Studio in Queens, NY, where she also made costumes for some of the annual dance recitals.

Juanita is survived by her children Deena Sturgis (John) Hone, Rudy (Michelle) Brown, Christopher (Viviana) Brown; sister Laurie (Doug) Rufalo, nephews, Corey Hill, Marcus Rufalo and nieces Kimberly Hudson, Kristin Hector, Morgan Rufalo; grandchildren Kathleen Sturgis, Danielle (Adriane) Moore, Christine (Troy II) Williams, Michelle Hicks, Matthew, Sydney, Alicia and Devyn Brown; great grandchildren Kalyn Sturgis-Patterson; Trinity, Troy III and Tyson Williams; Isabella and Gianna Moore; Elisha, Gabrielle and Joshua Hicks.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Brown Sr., both her parents, and her brother LeRoy Hill Jr.

Memorial Service will be Thursday November 20, 2025, at 1pm. Jehovah Shammah Healing and Deliverance Center 598 South Harris Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43204

Light refreshments will be served directly following the service.
