Juanita F. Lukehart, 93, of Peoria, IL passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Country Comfort Retirement Home in Elmwood, IL. She was born to Claude and Opal (Carpenter) Fletcher on February 05, 1932 in Marshfield, Missouri.
She moved to Peoria in 1966 approximately. Juanita had many loves one of which was reading books. She loved to crochet afghans/throws for her family and friends. She loved working with numbers. That love for numbers was shown through her bookkeeping and cashier positions with Ben Schwartz IGA grocery store. She retired from there in 1995. Juanita was a member of United Food & Commercial Workers Union.
Juanita's memories will be cherished by her daughters, Elna Fern(Gerry) Seely of Peoria, IL; Debbie (Billy) Thurston of Melber, KY; Glenda (Dan) Nally of Manteno, IL; grandchildren, Karen (Lisa Carrell) Reinholdt of Spring Bay, IL; Trudi (Jerry) Martin of Georgetown, IL; Susie (Ross) Luciano in Tennessee; Billy Jack Thurston of Melber, KY; Amber Schoonover of Manteno, IL; Eric (Ann) Taylor of Monmouth, IL; great-grandchildren, Melissa (Antoine) Buckley of Peoria, IL; Amanda (Sean) Kennedy of Peoria, IL; Josh (Shanelle) Stoien of Goodyear, AZ; Brandi Reinholdt of Spring Bay, IL; Shane (Kelly) Banholzer of St. Louis, MO; Courtney Marshall in Tennessee; Nickolas Luciano of Tennessee; Zack, Jessie & Chris Thurston of Melber, KY; Zoie Madison of Carbondale, IL; Trista & Carlee of Manteno, IL; Tyler, Logan & Issac in IL; and great-great grandchildren, Haleigh, Aaliah, Brayden, Caleb, Tyson, Jaden, Bailey, Lilyana, Roselyn, William, Joshua, Adrian, Cooper & Otto in Illinois, Arizona & Missouri.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and grandchild, Jamie Thurston of Melber, KY.
A private visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1pm at the Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL. Burial will follow at Historical Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Juanita, please visit our floral store.
