MAYSVILLE — Jackie Ray Applegate, 64, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center.
Mr. Applegate was the widower of Barbara Gray Mitchell Applegate.
Jack was a farmer and landowner.
He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on October 17, 1958, the son of the late William Means Applegate and Gladys Stumbo Applegate.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeremy Applegate (Sarah), Darren Applegate (Kyla) and Larren Applegte all of Maysville; five grandchildren, Jera Edmond (Jeffrey), Kaylee Holland, Kacey Applegate, Zachary Applegate and Maylee Simpson and one due in April 2024; four siblings, Jim Applegate of Maysville, Wayne Applegate (Christina) of Spring, TX, Barbara Moreland (Tommy) of Flemingsburg and Bernice Jackson of Maysville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Bailey Applegate and one sister, Anna Lee Daulton.
Funeral services for Jackie Applegate will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023, with Rev. Herbie Stallard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Applegate, Darren Applegate, Larren Applegate, Travis Carpenter, Jody McCartey, Jeffrey Edmond, Nick Miley and Christopher Applegate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 5-8 p.m.
