Juanita Malbrough Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 10, 2025.
Juanita Ann Malbrough was born on February 12, 1953, in Fenton, LA, to the late Jules Malbrough and Ethel Hardy. Residing in Lake Charles, LA, she dedicated more than 30 years to the hospitality industry before retiring.

Juanita was a benevolent woman. Consistently providing compassion, care, love, and assistance to those in need. Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved her family deeply and was known for her strength, wisdom, outspoken and lively nature, with an unwavering faith to match it.

In her free time, Juanita enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, cooking delicious meals, reading the bible, singing Happy Birthday (every year), and consistently tuning in to her Monday and Friday night Wrestling. Sharing laughter and playful banter that would light up a room, she was more than a mother, sister, grandmother, and best friend-she was a blessing to everyone around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Hardy and Jules Malbrough. Daughter Stacey Citizen, two brothers, Julius and Tommy Malbrough. Three sisters, Wanda Latigue, Salomia Malbrough, and Shirely Harmon. Grandson Desmond Tyler, great-granddaughter Aniyah Byrd, and Godchild Angela Ledoux.

After 72 years, Juanita leaves to cherish her precious memories:

Children - Deborah Citizen, Rachel Citizen, Steven Galmore, Melissa Malbrough (Manuel Keith) Berard - All of Lake Charles, LA.

Grandchildren - Shaneika Citizen (HTX), Destiny (Dominique) Hines (HTX), Deonna (Chris) Meeks (LC), Ja'lon Citizen (BR, LA), De'Shona Alex (Tyzaire) Haywood, De'Andre Galmore, Christopher Brown jr, Charissa Brown, Malajah Citizen, Isaiah Brown, Sa'Renity Galmore, Grace Galmore, Candace Victorian - All of Lake Charles, LA.

Great-grandchildren - Dylan Byrd, Aiden Byrd, Karter Meeks, Tyzaire Haywood Jr, Malia Matthews, Tyon Haywood, and Ivory Matthews.

Siblings - Marylin Reed, Lou Ella Charles, Alberta Francois, Arzenor Hardy; best friend Charles Compton, Tomika Galmore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Her life will be celebrated with love and gratitude for the joy she brought to many. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
