JUANITA ELIZABETH ALLEN PHILLIPS
LUMBERTON — Mrs. Juanita Elizabeth Allen Phillips, 87, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully Nov. 4, 2021, at Southeastern Hospice House, Lumberton. Juanita was born in Bladen County, to the late Betty Speedy Allen and Marvin Allen. She was a special mother and wife.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Preston Phillips; two brothers, James "Jim" Henry Allen, and William "Bud" Kenneth Allen; a sister, Katherine A. Johnson; and a special niece, Judy A. Tedder.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph "Joe" Preston Phillips II of Lumberton, and Steven Allen Phillips of Bladenboro; two daughters, Beth Phillips Lewis and husband, Gary, of Lumberton, and Bonita Dawn Phillips of St. Pauls; four grandsons, Alexander Lewis and wife, Emily, of Goldsboro, Joseph Lewis and wife, Shijia, of Pembroke, Seth Lewis of Lumberton, and Nicholas Phillips of Bladenboro; two great-grandsons, William and Graham Lewis; and a sister-in-law, Cathy P. Suggs of Fayetteville.
A graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Cemetery (Lumberton) with Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating. A time of visitation followed the service.
Services are under the direction of Boles-Biggs Funeral Home of Lumberton.
