Juanita Estep Robinette, 91, of Stopover, KY, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on July 12, 2025, in the care of her daughter, Diane, who has displayed tremendous love and compassion to our mother.
Juanita was born April 4, 1934, to Eli and Meda Tolliver Estep of Jamboree, KY. Juanita was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. She was a graduate of Pikeville College and a retired educator, having taught 1 st and 3 rd grades, sharing not only her knowledge, but more importantly her love and affection for the little ones under her care. She loved them first, then proceeded to teach them. Throughout the years, she continued to love hearing the term of endearment, "Ms. Robinette," from her former students. She never lost her love for children, even in the depths of Alzheimer's. On our outings, she quickly acknowledged the little children, engaging in conversation with them! Wendy's and Dairy Queen were the highlights of our many excursions. An "as- big-as-you-can-make-it" LARGE vanilla ice cream cone never failed to bring a bright smile to her face and a twinkle to her eye. On occasion, she also enjoyed a big Wendy's chocolate chip cookie. We had to make those road trips worth it! Most memorable, they are today!
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67+ years, Hulen E. Robinett, and her two sons, Hulen Gene and Huby Dean Robinette, with whom she is now reunited. Also preceding her in death were her sons-in-law, Harold Lee Campbell and Grover Lee Blankenship, her brother Allen Estep, her sister
Louzania "Baby" Estep Honaker, her brother-in-law Dallas Honaker, her nephew Heath Honaker, her sisters-in-law Della Wine, Iva Murphy and Ella Fish, her brother-in-law L.C. Robinett, and many other family and friends. Juanita has been blessed to have a large family to share her love with.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Hulita Gail (William) Blankenship, Hulena Diane Blankenship, Huvita Kay Campbell, and Huletha Juanita (Terry "James") Smith. Juanita leaves behind many grandchildren, including: William Kirby Blankenship, Michael Shannon Blankenship, Kristi Dionne (Casey) Cisco, Kevin Lee (Marjorie) Blankenship, Gregory Keith (Sara) Blankenship, Taletha Juanita (Seth) Clay, Braxton Cole (Christy) Smith, Brennan Chandler (Indlie) Smith, Jordan Carrington Smith, Da'Vontae Miguel (Clarissa) Smith, LaQuan Easton Smith, Tyeisha Jade (Adrian) Layne, Daeisha Brooke Smith, Antuan Jamison Smith, Timmy Smith. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren (30) and great-great-grandchildren (9), as well as many dear nieces, nephews and family friends.
A private funeral service, with family and friends, will be held at Jones & West Funeral Home of
Phelps, KY, with James Smith officiating, under the direction of Marshall West. Burial will follow in the W.J. Robinett Cemetery at Stopover, KY, with family and friends as pallbearers.
