Juanita Wright of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home Chapel, located at 242 Orange St., Abilene, TX 79601.
Juanita was born on September 19, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dora Guevara and Alfredo Guana Ortegon. She attended Winters High School in Winters, TX, and later graduated from Abilene High School in 1971.
She was first married to Concepcion R. Rocha, with whom she had three beloved daughters. Later in life, she married Robert G. Wright. Juanita was a devoted woman of faith who put the Lord first in all aspects of her life. She was actively involved in her church and was known for her unwavering love for her family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Guana Ortegon; her mother, Dora Guevara Ortegon; her sisters, Amelia Ortegon, Margarita Ortegon, and Mary Ann Fudge; and her brother, Alfredo Ortegon.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert G. Wright; her daughters, Santa Yvonne Rocha (Jacob Flores), Natalie Ann Rocha (Omar Gonzalez), and Amelia Rocha (Joe Martinez); her brothers, Fred Ortegon (Mary) and Nicholas Ortegon (Beth); and her sisters, Emmalina Ramirez and Louis Ramirez. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Marc Jr., Daniel Jr., Daniella, Miguel, Aubrie, Branden, Marcus, Jeron, George III, Omar Jr., Natasia, Luis, Alexandra, Erica, Ariana, and Emilio; as well as many great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joys and accomplishments were being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She cherished her children and grandchildren deeply and held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. Juanita had a warm and generous spirit, loving everyone she met.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
