Jude A. Lemelle, 69, of Ames, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Baytown, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on December 22, 1955, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Joseph L. and Cecelia Auzenne Lemelle, Jude carried his Louisiana roots with him throughout his life. For the past 48 years, he made Ames his home-building a life filled with devotion, hard work, and deep love for those around him. A graduate of Leonville High School, Jude went on to enjoy a long career as a quality control supervisor before retiring. He was a man of strong Catholic faith, steady character, and a gentle heart.
Jude found joy in life's simple blessings. He loved casting a line on a quiet fishing trip, riding his motorcycle on open roads, and making frequent trips back to Louisiana to reconnect with family and the places he held dear. But more than anything, Jude treasured time spent with the people he loved. His happiest moments were those shared with family-telling stories, laughing together, and watching his grandchildren grow.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Victor V. Lemelle, Lionel M. Lemelle, Angelina Papillion, and Joseph H. Lemelle.
Jude leaves behind his devoted wife of 46 years, Glenda Davis Lemelle; his sons, Andre Lemelle and Derwin Lemelle and wife Elisha; his siblings Debra G. Thierry, Mable M. Sam, Jessie Lemelle, John M. Lemelle, and Leon Lemelle; his godson John Lemelle; and his cherished grandchildren, Landry and Lennox, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel in Liberty.
