Jude Owen McCollough, 12 years old, of Summit, MS was taken into the presence of Christ Jesus on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Blair Batson Hospital in Jackson, MS.
Jude was born on August 25, 2011 in Montgomery, AL to Brian and Michelle McCollough. He was homeschooled, an avid artist, and loved snakes, frogs, and spiders. Most recently, he performed in the State Street Junior Players' production of Willy Wonka as an Oompa Loompa. Jude loved Legos and completed many amazing sets including replicas of Darth Vader's and Luke Skywalker's helmets. He enjoyed camping and fishing and he especially loved eating fried bass. He also had a knack for cooking; his favorite meal to prepare was pasta alfredo. He was ferociously loved by his family, church, and community. Most importantly, Jude was a child of the Covenant. By grace through faith, he is in union with Jesus Christ. We await a glorious reunion with him and all our loved ones who have died in the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Adrian McCollough.
Survivors include his parents, Brian and Michelle McCollough; sisters, Emma, Caroline, and Maggie; grandparents, Eddie and Jen Hornback, Cathy McCollough, and Les and Ann Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Thomas of Spartanburg, SC presiding over them. Friends are invited to visit from 9:30 am to 11 am. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hope Lodge, Jackson MS. Checks may be mailed to American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
