Judith Adeimy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory - Hamlet on Dec. 19, 2025.
"What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." - Helen Keller

With hearts filled with great love and gratitude, we remember our sweet mother, Judith Young Adeimy, of Hamlet, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 77 on Friday, December 19, 2025. We are profoundly thankful that she was able to remain in her home until the time of her death, surrounded by her beloved pets, loving family, and devoted caregivers.

Known affectionately as Judith, Mom, Gigi, JY, Bugs, and Judy, she was born on September 23, 1948, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, to Manly and Alice Young and grew up in Tatum, South Carolina . She was the adored baby sister of David Young (Primilla) and Carol Young St. Clair (Tex). Her parents, both siblings, along with her dear brother-in-law Tex, preceded her in death.

Judith is survived by her three children: Alice Adeimy Land of Richmond, Virginia; Tatum Adeimy Strum (Adam) of Brooklyn, New York; and D. Allen Adeimy, Jr. (Debbie) of Hamlet. She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Mylan, Naan, Benjamin, Jack, and Layne, and a devoted "dog mom" to her beloved pups, Chloe (deceased), Gracie, and Theo.

She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Primilla Young of Leesburg, Virginia; many nieces and nephews; and her former husband, David A. Adeimy of Hamlet, along with his siblings Kitty Ormsby (Grady) of Swansboro, North Carolina and John Adeimy of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as sister-in-law, Billie Adeimy of Hamlet.

We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful individuals who tirelessly cared for Mom and helped her remain at home during a long period of declining health. Geraline Morrison, Bill Morris, Cindy Robinson, Margie Armstrong, and Patsy Martin were Mom's helpers, companions, and caregivers, and we will forever be grateful for their kindness and devotion.

Mom's love for her dogs, her family, and her friends was immense. Her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile lit up whenever she spoke of them. She gained many dear friends while working at Fairview Heights School as a teaching assistant alongside Sue Hanna, and we have heard from many former students who fondly remember her kindness and care.

Mom inspired us all when she returned to school later in life to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She graduated at the top of her class from Richmond Community College's Associate Degree Nursing Program and worked almost 20 years in Labor and Delivery at Richmond Memorial Hospital, where she provided exceptional care to local mothers and newborns and formed wonderful friendships.

In remembrance of Mom, the family will receive visitors at Harrington Funeral Home in Hamlet on Saturday, December 27, from 2:00–3:00 p.m., immediately followed by a service of remembrance at 3:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends at the home of Allen and Debbie Adeimy on Minturn Avenue in Hamlet.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Richmond County Animal Shelter, 529 W. US 74 Highway, Rockingham, NC 28379. Mom would have given her last dollar to support the important work done on behalf of animals-there was no cause closer to her heart.
