79 year old, Judith ‘Judy’ Bailey, of DeMotte, passed away on March 20, 2025, at her home with her loving family around her.
On February 19, 1946, Judy was born to John and Nellie (Anker) Eylander in Harvey, Illinois. Judy married Charles Bailey on September 25, 1964, who preceeded her. She spent the last 10 years of her life with her loving partner, Jim Fisher. Judy started out as a turkey farmer, hog farmer, and a professional horse trainer, who left farming to spend 25 years working at Kankakee Valley as a custodian and retired in 2016. She loved training her horses, and spent her best days showing the horses at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
Judy is survived by her partner: Jim Fisher, sons: Dan Bailey, Jeremy (Niki Wolfe) Bailey, grandchildren: Cody (Grace) Bailey, Johnathan (Miranda) Bailey, Brittney Stilley, Tristan Bailey, Samantha Watson, 13 great-grandchildren, bonus children: Kristi (CJ) Waters, Tammy Dolezal, Vicki (Tony) Economos, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Charles Bailey, brother: John Eylander, and sister: Beverly Kuiper.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, IN 46392. Services for Judy will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Pastor Ed Bontreger officiating. Graveside interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Holland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lake County Fair- All Breed Classic Open Horse Show.
