Judith "Judy" Ellen Bastion of Springfield, MO, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on March 14, 2025 at the age of 75. She displayed incredible strength and courage throughout her two year battle with cancer. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Judy was born in Berryville, Arkansas on December 19, 1949. Following high school graduation, she moved to Springfield, MO. Judy married Alvin "Al" Fleenor in 1969 and to this union two daughters, Kristi and Angie, were born. Judy enjoyed being a stay at home mom when her girls were young. She often volunteered at their schools and was a Campfire leader. Once her girls were older, Judy worked at Wommack Monument Company. Following the passing of Al in 1992, Judy married Charles Bastion in 2002.
Judy was a member of First General Baptist Church of Springfield, MO. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening. Judy's family was her pride and joy. You could always spot her in the stands at her grandkids' basketball, volleyball, and baseball games. Judy will always be remembered for her ability to light up a room with her smile and infectious laugh.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Johnnie Matney, her first husband, Al Fleenor, her second husband, Charles Bastion, and one sister, Lori Pounders.
Judy is survived by her two daughters, Kristi Terry-Lawshee and husband, LJ, of Springfield, MO, and Angie Pollard of Marshfield, MO, stepdaughter Debra Lutgen and husband, Mike, of Warrenton, MO, one brother, Roger Youngblood, of Springfield, MO, her grandchildren Max Terry, Sam Terry, Joe Terry, Ally Pollard, and Boston Pollard, three great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will take place at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
