Judith Blando Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodlawn Funeral Home & Garden of Memories on Feb. 14, 2026.
Judith "Judy" Ellen Blando 77, of Fayetteville North Carolina, formerly of Dearborn Michigan and Houston Texas, died February 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Judy was born in Dearborn, MI in 1948 to George and Muriel Bandli and was the oldest of two brothers George and Richard. She spent her girlhood days with her cousin Janice and the two were inseparable, often being found at the skating rink "chasing boys and breaking hearts". In 1966 Judy graduated from Fordson High School and would later move to Houston Texas, where she worked as a lab technician.

While in Houston, Judy met the love of her life, Officer Troy Alan Blando of the Houston Police Department. They were married in 1983 and welcomed Daniel (Danny) Joseph Blando in September of 1985. The family enjoyed spending time outdoors together and creating lasting memories. Troy preceded Judy in death in 1999.

Judy's determination to remain self-reliant never wavered despite having MS, moving around Texas, back to Michigan, and in 2013, following the birth of her first grandchild, Zoey Marie Blando, Judy moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. During her time in Fayetteville, Judy cherished the time she got to spend with Zoey and the two would often be found together, enjoying sweet treats and spending time outdoors. Her brother Richard would often journey down from Michigan to share laughter, stories, and quiet moments with his beloved sister. Judy's greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother, and her humor and quick wit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son Daniel (Kristen); grandchildren Zoey and Nicholas, and brothers George and Richard.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Woodlawn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Houston Police Officers Union's " Assist the Officer Foundation ".
