MONTICELLO - Judith A. Brush, 79, of Monticello passed away at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 29, 2025) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Judy was born on June 28, 1946, in Canton, the daughter of William "Clyde" and Frances E. (Herrick) Shaw. She married Gerald Brush on March 21, 1965, in Canton.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald Brush of Monticello; daughter, Christina L. (Tim) Wilson of Bement; son, Steven A. (Marcy) Brush of Fargo, N.D.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Parsons of Smithfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy was an accountant in the business office at The News-Gazette and later retired from Human Kinetics in Champaign. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church. Judy enjoyed reading, cooking and fishing and was a devoted servant to God.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Piatt County Animal Shelter, West Minister Presbyterian Church in Champaign or a charity of the donor's choice.
