Judith Ann Burroughs, age 82, passed away Thursday, July 13th, 2023 in
Tyler, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 17th, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 at Rose Heights Church - Lindale. Burial will be held at Harris Chapel. Officiating the service is Brother James Dill.
Judy, a loving and devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was the epitome of love and devotion, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, faith, and cherished memories. Born in the vibrant city of Chicago on December 16th, 1940, Judy grew up in
Columbus, Georgia and found her home in
Lindale, TX, where she lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith.
Judy is preceded in death by parents, Jerry O'Neal Googe Sr. and Verna Juliet (Miller) Googe; sister, Kay Patrick; two brothers, Larry Googe and twin brother, Jerry Googe Jr. She is survived by her husband Raymond Burroughs; daughters, Carole Burroughs of Tyler, Christy and husband, Steve Golightly of Lindale; sons, Shane Burroughs of Dallas, Jason and wife, Hollie Burroughs of Lindale; sister, Joyce and husband, Archie Hand of
Fortson, Georgia; brother, Mark and wife, Jennifer Googe of
Salem, Alabama; grandchildren, Brandon Burroughs of Corpus Christi, Katelyn Hall of North Carolina, Dylan Boyd of Tyler, Kaleb Burroughs of Lindale, Jakeb Burroughs of Lindale, Allison Burroughs of Lindale, Macie McLeod of Lindale, Kaylee Brousseau of Lindale; along with 3 great grandchildren and 3 fur babies.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Burroughs, Dylan Boyd, Jakeb Burroughs, Tyler Googe, Steve Patrick, and Wayne Hall.
At the tender age of 16, Judy met the love of her life, Raymond Burroughs, and they embarked on a journey that spanned an incredible 64 years of marriage. Their bond was unbreakable, built on a foundation of mutual respect, support, and enduring affection. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them, a shining example of commitment and devotion.
Judy's love for her family was matched only by her love for God and her unwavering faith. She found solace and strength in her religious community and was an active member of her church and Sunday school. Her commitment to living a Christian life was evident in the kindness and compassion she showed to everyone she encountered. Her deep love for God was a guiding light that shone through her actions, making a profound impact on those around her.
Professionally, Judy had a successful career in the eye care industry, as an administrative assistant. Judy also had a range of interests that brought her immense happiness and you could often find her tending to her beautiful gardens, cooking for her family or creating lasting memories through her travels.
Judy will be remembered as a pillar of love, faith, and devotion. Her unwavering love for her family, her boundless compassion, and her profound faith in God will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
