Judith K. Clancy, 84, of Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born on April 9th, 1941, the daughter of Ellis Brown and Jeanette (Leiteritz) Brown, sister of Richard Brown and Kathleen (Brown) Gehl. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles T. Clancy. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith K. Clancy passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and learning.

She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Heather Clancy-Nisoff and her husband, Jason Nisoff; Erin Mike-Mayer and her husband, Laszlo Mike-Mayer; and Colleen Clancy Landversicht and her husband, Kenneth Landversicht.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brady Mike-Mayer, Caitlyn Mike-Mayer, Reagan Mike-Mayer, Daniel Nisoff, Riley Nisoff, Jordan Landversicht, Shea Landversicht, and Ava Landversicht.

A dedicated educator, Judith spent many years teaching at Stafford Middle School and as an adjunct professor at Plattsburgh State University. Her passion for books and reading touched countless lives-from her students to fellow teachers, she inspired others to share that same joy with new generations of learners.
Known for her kindness, warmth, and contagious laughter, Judith brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on through the countless stories she shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many students and colleagues whose lives she enriched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. John the Baptist Church at 1:30 P.M. Inurnment will take place in the Spring.


Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeny.com.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Book, which provides books and resources through a network of educators, professionals and volunteers specifically serving children in need.
