Judith Elaine Clear

1951 - 2024

Judith Elaine Clear was born in McConnelsville, OH on August 24, 1951 to Henry Wood Ashton Jr. and Eula Belle Morrison Ashton. She was united in marriage on June 12, 1971 to Larry Clear. She died September 8, 2024.

She was preceded in death by one brother Dana "Danny" Ashton and her parents.

She is survived by her husband; her children David Clear (Denise), Sheri Jungenberg (Vince), Deanna Clear, and Nick Clear; one brother Robert (Martha) Ashton; two grandsons Dustin (Marissa) Brunkhorst and Clay (Leah) Clear; as well as two great grandchildren James Waylon and Nora Marie.

Judy was a long-time member of the LaMonte Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Her love for God allowed her to meld the Gospel into everyday life. She worked for the Knob Noster School District from 1999-2015. She loved the children she taught and held them close to her heart.

Judy was a robust matriarch with a sparkle in her eye and quick wit. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Sunday dinners were her crowning glory. She made enough food to feed a small country and anyone was welcomed at her table.

Besides her family, her other loves were quilting, scrapbooking, and visiting friends. She had the tremendous gift of storytelling where she made you feel a part of the story. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at La Monte Christian Church. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Michael Wood and pallbearers will include Steve Clear, Noah Clear, Thomas Chaney, James Saffold IV, Scott Gard, and Keith Elwell. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to West Central Christian Service Camp in LaMonte and can be left in care of the funeral home.
