Judith A. Cyrus

GOUVERNEUR- Judith Ann Cyrus, age 69, of Gouverneur, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her home.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Gouverneur VFW. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Judy was born on November 17, 1954 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Clarence and Marlene (Apple) Dedrick. She attended school in Morristown and then graduated from Gouverneur Central School. On February 14, 1981, she married Donald Cyrus. Donnie passed away on November 29, 2016.
Judy worked as a CNA for United Helpers in Ogdensburg and at Carthage Area Hospital, before becoming disabled. She enjoyed singing, playing computer games and spending time with her family and grandbabies. She was a great cook and would often make food for everyone in the complexes she lived in. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Surviving are two daughters, Mildred "Gena" Bendickson and Shannon and Seth Thomas; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Michelle Dedrick; sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Judy is predeceased by her husband, Donnie Cyrus; her parents, Clarence and Marlene Dedrick; a daughter, Lisa Bishop; and four brothers, Clarence, Dale, Patrick and Robert Dedrick.
