Judith A. Diffendal

Judith A. Diffendal, 77, proudly of Wyomissing Hills, passed away at Hershey Medical Center on December 5, 2023. Judy was the wife of James J. Diffendal. They were married on April 20, 1974 and enjoyed 49 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Floretta E. (Binder) Sassaman. Judy was a 1964 graduate of Mt Penn HS and Millersville University '68 earning a B.A. in Humanities. She was employed by Albright College and Berks Career and Technology Center retiring in 2006. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Diffendal; brother, Thomas L. Sassaman (Fran), and brothers/sisters-in-law, Linda Sassaman, Dennis (Debbie) Diffendal, Mark (Trish) Diffendal, Richard (Sandy) Diffendal, Marie Breidenbach, John Diffendal, and David (Diana Day) Diffendal; and cousin, Richard Sassaman. Judy's family started her on an early path of volunteerism and Judy was involved with many organizations during her lifetime of giving. Recently it was volunteering at St Francis Home but her passion for giving was the John Paul II Center. The family would thank all our family, friends, and neighbors during this period of illness. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a service to begin at 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to John Paul II Center for Special Learning, 1092 Welsh Road, Shillington, PA 19607.
