Judith (Guenther) Donati passed away on September 7, 2025 at the age of 89, just two weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Born and raised in New Britain, she shared 43 happy years married to her favorite dance partner and love of her life, Lou, who sadly left us in 1997. She leaves behind her four children – Beverly Lanza of Kensington, Lou Donati (Christa) of Cheshire, Cher Forauer (Mark) of Kensington and Tony Donati (Debi) of Southington, one sister-in-law, Ann Cimmadon, along with several nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her four brothers, a sister and a cherished son-in-law, Jim Lanza. She was also recently predeceased by her dearest, lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Nora Guenther.
Along with her husband, Lou, Judy worked happily for 45+ years at CT Spring & Stamping, reluctantly leaving her "second family" at the ripe age of 81. She spent the last fifteen years living with her family in Kensington, where she occupied herself with visits from extended family, crossword puzzles, word search, Yahtzee and scratch-off lottery tickets. To know Judy was to be cared for by her – with a seat and a full plate at her table. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially hosting Monday night dinners and sharing time with her seven grandchildren: Paul, Tim, Katy, Scott, Amy, Kyle and Lindsay and her 11 great-grandchildren. Ma, Mom, Mommy, Lady, Gram, Grandma and Gigi were her favorite titles.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the hospice care providers who eased Judy's passing.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
