Judith Eriksen Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Irene Eriksen, who departed this world peacefully at her care facility in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on October 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Born February 21, 1943, in Boise, Idaho, to Ray Nichols and Clarissa Wood. Judith touched the lives of many through her thoughtful kindness, steadfast dedication to her family, and an unshakable devotion to her faith.
Judith cherished her role as a mother and homemaker, finding joy and purpose in creating a loving, nurturing environment for her family and all those who entered her home. She studied interior decorating at Brigham Young University and delighted in crafting spaces of harmony, reflecting each changing season and celebration. She also loved singing in the ward choir and regularly contributed to relief society functions. Judith's compassionate spirit and gentle nature left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
Judith expressed extraordinary skills as a seamstress, fashioning many of her own clothes, her children's costumes, and entertained a plethora of whimsical requests from her children like stuffed animals and school art projects. In the quieter moments, she found comfort in coloring books, where her love of color and design were revealed on each page. Through these creative expressions, she shared with us a part of her soul-warm, vibrant, and uniquely her.
Judith is survived by her loving husband, Erik Eriksen. Her brother, Dr. Ivan Nichols (Ruth). Her children, Kim Mueller (Jason), Chris Bessey (Tina), Michael Bessey, Paul (Amanda) Eriksen. Her grandchildren, Braiden Bessey, Christian and Madison Cowdell; along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray Nichols, Clarissa Wood; and her son, Jay Bessey.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the viewing on October 20th, 2025 at Anderson & Sons Mortuary in American Fork, UT at 09:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at the Larkin Cemetery in Sandy, UT at 11:00 AM.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Judith for her kindness, her love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May her spirit continue to inspire us all.
