Judith (Judy) Clare Fieldsend, age 84, a lifelong Park Rapids, MN area resident, unexpectedly departed this world the morning of Thursday January 9, 2025, in Minneapolis, MN. She spent her last moments with family by her side. Judy was born on December 21, 1940, to Clifford and Clara (Beck) Harsha and was one of ten children. Judy attended Park Rapids schools and was a member of the 1958 graduating class.

On June 15, 1958, Judy was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Fieldsend. Together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Shortly after marriage, they began their life together with a move to St. Petersburg, FL, where three of their four sons were born. In 1965, they returned to Park Rapids where they continued to grow their family and welcome a fourth son. In Judy’s early years of marriage, she and Dick were co-owners of the Park Rapids roller skating rink. Judy loved reading books and would later become employed by the Park Rapids Area Schools Library where she touched on the lives of many students throughout her years in the schools. Following her retirement from the school system, her love of reading led her to volunteer in the City Library.

Judy was a skilled seamstress and had a love of embroidery and quilt making and often blessed family and friends with beautiful quilts and other hand-made/embroidered gifts. Judy was active with friends and family and could often be found searching garage sales for “treasures.” She was also part of a Bunco group which she attended often.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her four sons: Tim (Laurie) Fieldsend of Bremerton, Washington, Kevin (Ivy) Fieldsend of Devils Lake, North Dakota, Jeff (Raelyne) Fieldsend and Chris Fieldsend all of Park Rapids; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her brother Robert (Mary), and sister Karol, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; grandchildren, Casey, and Brandon; parents, Clifford, and Clara; and siblings, Bill, Myron, Dick, Verna Jean, Barbara, Roger, and Loree.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids. Visitation will begin at 1 PM. Following the service, refreshments will be served.
