Judith "Jerri" Miles Gause, 86, wife of the late John Maxie Gause, died Thursday, October 20, 2022 at The Heritage Home of Florence.
Mrs. Gause was born on June 26, 1936, in Florence County, daughter of the late Carl E. Miles and Mayme Margaret McKnight Miles. She was a graduate of J.C. Lynch High School and received an Associate Degree from The Carolina Business School in Florence. Mrs. Gause was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Coward and attended Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church in Florence in her later years until her health declined. Before retiring she was a 5K Teachers Assistant at J.C. Lynch Elementary School. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardner and was a former member of the Gardenia Garden Club in Coward.
Surviving is her son, Dr. John Wesley (Janice) Gause of Florence; grandchildren, John Maxie (Anna) Gause of Seneca, SC, Katherine Elizabeth Gause of Chicago, IL, and Anna Miles Gause of Florence; great granddaughter, Amelia Blake "Millie" Gause; sister, Joan (Richard) Harrington of Florence; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 24, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial will be at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in Coward.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home of Dr. John and Janice Gause, 3483 Lakeshore Drive, Florence, SC 29501.
The family would like to extend a special "Thanks" to Dr. Steve Ross and the staff of Warley Wing at The Heritage Home for their excellent care. They would like to also thank her caregivers over the years, Katherine Singletary, Linda Doughty, Libby Collins, Emma Nettles, Brenda King, Teacia Bruce and Angela McIver, Loistene Harrison, Gloria Hickman, Rosa McClain, Pam Armour and Kindred Home Health.
