Judith C. Ingram

Judith Carol (Lohr) Ingram, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her husband, Donald Thompson Ingram, who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Estella Lohr; brothers, Darwin, Leo, and Jack Lohr; and sister, Waneta Newbold. She is survived by her three daughters, Sherrie Kibler (Kevin) of Crofton, MD, Dawna Tucker (Scott) of King George, VA, and Julie Griffith (Dean D'Eugenio) of Edgewater, MD; her seven grandchildren, Katrina Riley (Kyle), Nicholas Kibler, Ryan Kibler, Austin Tucker, Maxwell Tucker (Johanna), Joshua Griffith, and Jamie Jarrard (Chandler); her sister Betty Lou Pysher (Fred) of Custer City, PA; and many other extended family members.
Judith was known as Judy to all who loved her. Born on January 14, 1942, Judy grew up in the small town of Kantner, PA. She later moved to Washington, DC, where she was recruited to become a secretary for USDA at the young age of 17. Judy met her soon-to-be- husband, Don Ingram, through a co-worker, Ruth Stultz. Ruth had a "baby brother" she wanted Judy to meet. Judy and Don met at a Cutco party, their love blossomed, and they married on April 28, 1962. They moved from Kent Village to Hyattsville, MD, and raised three beautiful girls together.
Judy retired from USDA in the fall of 1999 after 40 years of service. She and Don had big plans to travel, spend more time at their cabin in Pennsylvania, and maybe build on their Lake Martin property in Alabama. But sadly, Don was diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer on Judy's birthday in 2000. She became his loving caregiver until he passed away on May 1, 2000, only days after their 38th wedding anniversary. With the support of family and friends, Judy learned to adjust to life as a widow. She moved into a townhome in Chesapeake Beach, MD, with easier upkeep and began to travel. Judy also became very active with her church, health, family, and friendships, especially those friends from church. She had a love for butterflies and journaling and was known as the family picture-taker. Judy's greatest passion, though, was spending time with her grandchildren, especially one-on-one time.
Judy moved into an assisted living facility in November 2021 and was quickly moved to the memory care side, where she remained until the good Lord took her home on March 2nd.
Judy's favorite BIBLE verse was Psalms 118:24, "This is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." She would recite this to her children every morning when they were growing up!
We will miss you, Mom, and will love you always. May the Lord grant you eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judy's life on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
A Celebration of Life will be at the home of Julie and Dean, date to be determined
