Judith A. Johnston, age 86, a resident of Sara Reed Senior Living Community, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Erie on January 23, 1939, daughter of the late, Frank and Helen (MacKrell) Goetzinger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Johnston and one daughter Pamela Ferrero.
Judy was a retired registered nurse. During her working years she mainly worked for Orthopedic Surgeons. She was a longtime member of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church and was a member of their choir. Judy was a snow bird and enjoyed spending winters in Nokomis, FL with her husband. She even continued the warm winters in Florida after Frederick's passing in 2017.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (James) Taylor of Spring, TX; one son, Frederick (Roberta) Johnston Jr.; son-in-law, Greg Ferrero of Perry, OH; four granddaughters, Cheryl (Paul) Whitten, Kim Johnston, Jessica Ferrero and Julie (Scott) Marker; two great-granddaughters, Iris and Opal Whitten; one sister, Nancy (Frank) Enas; one nephew, Daniel (Tammy) Enas and one niece, Lori Giles.
Graveside services were private and held at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Cemetery. To send condolences please visit www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.
