Judith "Judy" Carol Kearns, 84, of North Newton, Kansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 30, 1940, to Arthur and Evelyn Dombrosky in Newton, Kansas, Judy graduated from high school and soon married her sweetheart, Leland C. Kearns, on February 7, 1959. Together they raised four children and shared 44 loving years of marriage until Leland's passing in 2003.

Judy's faith and family were the heart of her life. She poured endless love into her children, grandchildren, and growing generations, delighting especially in spoiling them with her handmade treasures. An avid reader, talented crafter, and wonderful cook and baker, Judy found great joy in sewing, crocheting afghans, dish towels, and potholders, and creating cherished Raggedy Ann dolls-one for each granddaughter at Christmas. Another Christmas tradition she treasured was baking peanut brittle, peppermint bark, ginger snaps, and other candies, which she lovingly packaged in festive tins and gave as gifts to family and friends. For many years she also used her cooking and baking talents while working in food service for schools and hospitals. Her kindness, creativity, and warm spirit touched everyone around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Danell Hunter of Hesston, Kansas; sons, Daniel Kearns of Walton, Kansas, Kenneth Kearns (Debbie) of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Ferlin Kearns (Regina) of Edmond, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Pankratz of Lewisville, Texas, and Cheryl Kersten (Jon) of Papillion, Nebraska.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leland; her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Dombrosky; her sister, Janice Koehn; and her brother-in-law, Wilber Koehn.

A celebration-of-life memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Ave., Newton, KS 67114, followed immediately by interment at Whitewater Cemetery, 10907 K-96, Whitewater, Kansas. A luncheon will be served at the church afterward.

Judy's gentle love and kindness will be missed, and will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is now at peace in the arms of her Savior.

Revelation 21:4 - "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
