It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Jolene Keyser on November 12, 2025. Born on June 17, 1952, in Cambridge, Ohio, Judith was a woman of strength and resilience, a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her effervescent personality, coupled with her inherent caring nature, left indelible marks on the hearts of those she encountered in her journey of life. "Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect," remarked author Margaret Mitchell. This quote encapsulates Judith's life perfectly, as she was a woman who embraced life's challenges with grace and tenacity.
Judith's career was centered on dedication and a strong work ethic. For many years, she served as a line worker in the manufacturing industry, contributing her energy and commitment to the Hoover Company until her retirement. Her colleagues remember her for her diligence and unwavering commitment to her work. As the Irish poet, W.B. Yeats once said, "The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper." Judith carried this sense of magic with her, not only in her work but in her interactions with others, always finding ways to make the everyday extraordinary.
Judith was married and later divorced, but her greatest pride was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Lisa Carpenter and Dreama Petitti, grandmother to Katelyn Albright, Hannah Petitti, Madison Carpenter, Meghan Carpenter, Breanna Petitti and Mason Carpenter. She is survived by three brothers, Mark Buckey, David Buckey, and Paul Buckey. She also is survived by four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Smith and four siblings. Her family was her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to live on in their hearts. Reflecting on Judith's life, it is fitting to quote American essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Judith truly succeeded in making lives easier, and her memory will forever be cherished.
Friends and loved ones are invited to leave memories and upload photos on the memorial page. The outpouring of love and stories will be a testament to Judith's life and the impact she had on those around her.
