Judith Marie "Judy" Manucy, affectionately known as Lieutenant Colonel, passed away on February 3, 2025, at her residence. She was born on June 26, 1939, in St. Augustine, Florida, to the late Edsell C. Sr. and Lois Manucy.
Judy was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, class of 1957, where she was honored as the valedictorian. In 1964, she joined the U.S. Air Force, four years after graduating from nursing school, and served with distinction as an Air Force nurse. She retired in 1984 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, a testament to her dedication and service to her country. During her career, she had the opportunity to travel the world, serving in locations including Thailand, Turkey, and various parts of Europe.
After her retirement, Judy settled in Panama City before returning to St. Augustine in 1989. Known for her kind and selfless spirit, she devoted much of her time to caring for others and also shared her life with her four beloved dachshunds, whom she lovingly raised.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, David Manucy. She is survived by her siblings: Shirley Cason (Ronald) of Palatka, Edsel C. Manucy Jr. (Sandra), Michael Manucy (Patricia), and Marilyn Rake, all of St. Augustine. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Judy's legacy of service, compassion, and love for her family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
At Judy's request there will be no services.
