Judith McClure Obituary

Published by Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Jul. 4, 2013.
McClure, Judith Linda "Judy" 73, passed away on July 4, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She often credited her faith, family and friends for giving her great strength during the fight. Judy was born on September 13, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in El Dorado, Kansas, one of five children of Lucille Richards. She married the love of her life, Donald Jack McClure, on September 2, 1961. Her greatest accomplishment in her eyes was becoming a mother to her two sons, Ian James McClure and Sean Michael McClure. She joyously celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in Ireland with her husband, sons, their wives, and grandchildren. Judy was a long time member of the T Bar M Racquet Club, where she made some of her most treasured friendships. She had a passion for all things sports, politics, trivia, Hallmark, cats, crosswords and The Cowboys. Judy's generous spirit, unconditional love and fierce loyalty blessed the lives of her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by them all. She is predeceased by her mother, Lucille Richards, and three of her siblings, David, Jerry, and Jimmy. She is survived by her husband, Don McClure; her son, Ian McClure (Heather) and their children, James, Jeremy, and Jack; her son, Sean McClure (Jaya), all of Dallas. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Clark (Sonny) and sister in-law, Bonnie Richards, of El Dorado, Kansas, as well as by extended family and numerous friends. Visitation will be on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home followed by a celebration of her life near her home in Dallas. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church followed by interment at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance (www.lungcanceralliance.org ) or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org ).

I was so sorry to hear about Judy's passing. We shared so many cups of tea in her kitchen or mine back in the 1970's and 1980's solving all of the world's problems. Our family is holding your family close to our hearts over the next couple of days. Thank you so much, Sean, for letting me know about your mother's death. She was a true Kansas gal and I loved her deeply!
