Judith Pascale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home on Mar. 27, 2026.
Judith Grace Pascale, a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 26, 2026. She was 85 years old.

Judy was born in Boston, the only child of William and Helen Dorey. She grew up in Everett and Somerville and was a proud graduate of Somerville High School. During her younger years, she spent part of her summers at her uncle's farm in Rumford, Maine. Though it was quite different from city life in Somerville, those times were very special to her, and she cherished trips spent with her cousin Nancy and Robert at the farm, often sharing those memories and fun stories with her family. Judy was a very strong, and responsible person from a young age, and as a teenager cared for her own mother who had a long battle with cancer.

Judy met her future husband, Vincent (Vinny) Pascale, in a memorable and serendipitous way-her family had rented a cottage from Vinny's family for a summer vacation at Revere Beach, and the two met while she vacationed. Vinny, an East Cambridge native, was attending Boston English High School at the time. A loving courtship followed, and the couple married in 1962, settling in Medford to build their life together. They spent their last 27 years living in Burlington to be closer to her family.

When her sons were born, Judy devoted herself fully to raising her family, creating a warm and loving home. As the only woman in a house full of men, she embraced her role with grace, strength, and good humor. She was the heart of the household-an organizer, a scheduler, and the one who kept everything running smoothly. Weeknight dinners were always at 6 p.m., Sundays and holidays were reserved for family meals & gatherings, frequently including grandparents, cousins and friends, and Judy relished the time spent with them playing cards after dinner. Sunday evenings were routinely spent with Vinny's Mother -traditions that brought everyone together and created lasting bonds.

Judy found great joy in creating meaningful memories for her family. When her sons were young, Vinny-who had a passion for anything with an engine-took up snowmobiling, and Judy enthusiastically joined in the adventure. The family spent many winters vacationing in Twin Mountain before eventually purchasing a home in Laconia on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. It became a treasured seasonal retreat, filled with winter snowmobiling and summer days on the water. Judy was a wonderful hostess, always welcoming family, friends, and her children's friends with warmth and generosity.

Vinny also enjoyed restoring antique cars, and together they shared that hobby. His favorite, a 1937 Packard, was often featured at car shows, and the family enjoyed taking part in parades together - moments that brought them great pride and happiness.

Becoming a grandmother was one of Judy's greatest joys. Known affectionately as "Nana," she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether hosting sleepovers, taking them on "mystery rides", picking them up after school, or cheering them on at hockey, baseball, lacrosse, field hockey games and figure skating events, she was a constant and loving presence in their lives. Judy and Vinny also created lasting memories by taking their entire family on trips to Florida, with fun times spent at Disney World and Universal Studios, and spending many weekends taking local trips on their boat cruising in Boston Harbor frequently to a favorite destination of Georges Island. While she may not have been one for thrills, the happiness and excitement of her grandchildren meant everything to her.

Above all, Judy's greatest legacy is the love she gave to her family. In her later years, as she bravely faced the effects of Alzheimer's Disease, which slowly took away her precious memories, her family, especially her beloved husband Vinny, rallied around her with unwavering devotion. They ensured she remained safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love in her own home.

Judy was deeply loved throughout her life, and she will be dearly missed. Her memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Judy was the beloved wife of 64 years of Vincent Pascale. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of Philip Pascale & his wife Rosemary of Burlington and Glen Pascale and his wife Kristen of Westborough. She was the proud Nana of Michael, John, Julianne, Vincent, Nicholas, Anthony, and Christopher Pascale. She was the sister-in-law of the late Joseph & Pat Pascale and Paul and Loretta Pascale. Judy also had some special cousins who were like siblings, Nancy Marshall of Reading, and the late Robert Marshall.

Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington on Monday, March 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral from the Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 31 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, 111 Winn Street, Burlington at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with a burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
