JUDITH LYNNE ROSS

ROSS, Judith Lynne Distinguished music theory professor and harpist, passed away quietly. Born in Boston, she is daughter of the late Beatrice D. Ross and Dr. Herbert J. Ross; sister of the late Jacqueline Ankeles; and wife of the late Joy Griffith. She is survived by her nephews, Alexander and Daniel Ankeles. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Judy taught for nearly four decades at Longy School of Music and chaired the Theory Department. She also founded the Massachusetts Harp Ensemble. Judy inspired thousands of students, was an activist for LGBTQ rights, an animal lover, and a crossword puzzle champion. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal shelter.
