JUDITH L. ROTH

Judith L. "Judy" (Downing) Roth, 82, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 15, 1942, to the late Richard and Edith (Schiberl) Downing. She is survived by her loving husband, John Roth; her daughter, Tammie (Tom) McLoughlin; and her son, John (Channon) Frech. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by one son and by two brothers.

Judy's diverse interests each contributed to the unique and special person that she was. From an early age, music was always a large part of her life, whether she was playing various musical instruments or teaching piano lessons. As a young mother, she was involved in numerous community activities, including serving as a member of the Willoughby Junior Women's Club, as a Cub Scout den leader, as a kindergarten room mother, and as a youth softball coach. She went on to have a lengthy career in the financial services industry. Upon retiring, Judy loved spending time at the beach in Florida with her husband. This was truly one of her happy places, where she and John created many lasting friendships and fond memories.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for her children and grandchildren. She treasured gatherings surrounded by the warmth of her family, and her most cherished role was that of "Grandma." Though she will be dearly missed, she leaves us with countless memories of happy times spent together, filled with laughter and love.

A private family service and interment were held. To honor her life, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
