Judith Rucker, a beloved retired nurse, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Splendora, Texas. Born on June 23, 1952, in Liberty, Texas, Judith dedicated her life not only to her profession but also to the care and love of her family. Her nurturing spirit and inherent qualities as a caretaker were evident throughout her life, as she consistently placed the needs of others before her own.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Amber Waterbury; her brothers, John Alpers and his wife Brenda, and James Alpers and his wife Sharon; her sister, Freda Morris and her husband Roland; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends and family members who will cherish her memory dearly.
Judith was preceded in death by her father, John L. Alpers; her mother, Ruby Lee Chambliss Alpers; her daughter, Angela Terhune; and her brothers, Fred Alpers, Roy Alpers, and Brunce Alpers. Each of these individuals played a significant role in her life, and their memory continues within the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her extensive career as a nurse, Judith had a rich array of hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in taking cruises with her best friend Shelia Woods, where she appreciated the beauty of the open sea. Judith also enjoyed cross-stitching, creating pieces that reflected her creativity and patience. Her love for collecting hummingbirds was a testament to her appreciation for life's delicate and beautiful moments.
A visitation in honor of Judith Rucker will be held on November 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Faith & Family Funeral Services located at 40847 Texas 105, Batson, TX 77519. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the incredible life Judith led.
Judith Rucker’s legacy lives on through her family, her friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her compassion and dedication. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love and care for others.
