Judith Smieja Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, at 11:00 A.M., with Father Ben Kociemba officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, from 5:00-8:00 P.M., and an hour prior at the church on May 3, 2024. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery following the Mass. Caring for Judi and her family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
Judith "Judi" Tuholsky was born on May 13, 1955 in Little Falls, MN to the late Dennis and Wynn (Vornbrock) Tuholsky. Judi attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and was a graduate of Little Falls Community High School. She went on to attend St. Cloud Vocational School getting her degree to be an Optometric Assistant. She was united in marriage to Mark Smieja on July 15, 1974. She was employed at Bremer Bank in Brainerd for 5 years and then worked at Brainerd Eyecare Center for 30 years.
Judi enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, reading, motorcycling, taking road trips, gardening and watching the birds in her backyard.
Judi is survived by her husband, Mark Smieja; daughter, Tara (Lucas) Mezzenga; grandchildren, Isabella, Landon, Lucianna and Valen Mezzenga; brothers, Michael Tuholsky and Patrick ( Becky) Tuholsky; sisters, Mary (Ed) Marsolek, Lynn (Gene) Anderson, Jeanne (Rob) Stanek, Susie (Ronnie) Yasgar, and Andrea (Josh) Pocklington.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Wynn Tuholsky; in-laws, Adolph and Delphine Smieja; and brother-in-law, James Smieja.
