Judith Ann "Judy" Smith, age 83, of Payson, died Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 7:19 pm in Sunset Home.
Judy was born August 1, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Estel and Alverna Alden Wilson. She married William "Lou" Smith on September 1, 1972, in Reno, NV. He survives.
Judy graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA. She lived for a time in Grants Pass, OR, where she worked in the hospitality industry. It was there she met Lou, the love of her life. The couple relocated to Roseburg, OR, where she worked as a teachers aid in her sons grade school. The family moved to Quincy in 1984. Up to this point, Judy was primarily a stay at home mom. In 1987 Judy graduated from John Wood Community College as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She briefly worked at Sunset Home before landing a position at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy. She retired after more than 25 years of faithful service. The Smiths have lived 30 plus years in the Payson Area.
In her spare time Judy enjoyed gardening and researching her family history and genealogy. She was an avid reader and enjoyed all kinds of literature.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Lou, include: two children, Jeffrey (Erin) Smith of Portland, OR, and Kristine (William) Maakestad of Puyallup, WA. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Estel and Alverna Wilson, and a brother, Jerry Wilson.
