Judith "Judy" Smith

1927 - 2021

Judith (Judy) Smith, formerly of Asheville, NC, died peacefully on August 10, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents Byron and Olga Sappington, her sister Joan Hash, and her brother Lewis Sappington. She is survived by her three daughters, Cathryn Smith of Rochester NY, Paula Smith of Ithaca, NY, and Joan (Stephen) Martin of Arden, NC. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Michael Roth, Wendell Roth, Jesse Martin and Gabriel Martin, who all adored their Gigi.
An avid bridge player, she was very involved with the Asheville Bridge Room where she served as a game director for many years and achieved her Life Master status of which she was so proud.
