Judith “Judy” Ann Sutter, 79, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 4:00 AM, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on January 4, 1945, in Mercer County, Ohio, to the late Robert and Louis (Vinning) Mariner. On May 28, 1966, she married Leroy “Lee” Sutter, who survives her. Together, they shared a loving marriage of over 58 years.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her children, Marcy Shue of Poe, Indiana, and Aaron (Yvonne) Sutter of Willshire; a brother, Mike (Robin) Mariner of Geneva, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jaymie, Logan, LeeAnn, Abby, Olivia, and Jorden; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded by her parents, and an infant brother, Roger Lee Mariner.
Judy was a proud graduate of Parkway High School in Rockford, Ohio, where she graduated in 1963. She went on to attend Miami Valley School of Nursing in Dayton, where she earned her Registered Nurse (RN) degree in 1967. For nearly four decades, Judy dedicated her career to nursing, primarily in long-term care facilities in Decatur, Indiana, and Rockford, Ohio. She retired in 2006 after a fulfilling 39-year career in healthcare.
A passionate sports fan, Judy enjoyed attending games, playing cards, reading, and, above all, spending time with her family. Her deep love for her family, combined with her nurturing spirit, made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her.
A service to honor Judy’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio, with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sutter family to support a local nursing student’s college fund, honoring Judy’s lifelong commitment to the nursing profession.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported them during this difficult time. Cisco Funeral Homes of Celina and St. Marys is honored to serve the Sutter family.
