Judith L. “Judy” Thompson, 82, of DeGraff, passed away Saturday morning, August 5, 2023, at her daughter’s home, near Raymond, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born in Columbus on June 28, 1941, to the late Clarence L. and Ruby E. (Byrd) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Thompson, brother Thomas Thompson, granddaughter Elaine Blue, two great-grandchildren Kaylee Woodley and Kaleb Legg.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Dale) Dingess of Galion, Stephanie (Alex) Neil of Raymond, and Lisa (Gary Keller) Legg of Bellefontaine; 9 grandchildren: Elizabeth Brock, Emily (Shawn) Ruppert, Daniel (Dana) Blue, Johnnie Lee (Rob) Holbrook, Jennifer Brown, Alex (Sarah) Neil, Jerred (Sierra) Neil, John (Brandy) Legg, and Beth Ann (James) Oiler; 31 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Terry Thompson of Sandusky; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dogs Fuzzy and Christmas, along with her duck, Daddy Duck.
Judy was a 1959 graduate of Columbus West High School. She also graduated from Troy Hobart Welding School and worked as a welder for many years. Most recently, Judy was driving for her Amish friends, where she was well known and loved. An avid gardener, with a green thumb, she was proud of the flower and vegetable gardens. Judy crocheted blankets for her family and friends, and loved her animals.
Judy’s funeral will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 11am, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11am. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery (located on Township Road 49), Galion, at 2pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to a humane society of the donor’s choice.
