Judith Van Vorse Obituary
Colonie- Judith F. Van Vorse (Citone), 81, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Genevieve Van Vorse. She is also predeceased by her sisters Marilyn Martin (Russell), Joan Michela, brother, Robert Van Vorse and her nephew Michael Michela.
Judi worked for the Albany County DSS for many years, retiring in 2005. She was long standing member of the Red Hat Group, Sparkling Scarletts.
Judi is survived by her daughter Roberta Chambers of Colonie and her grandson Nicholas Chambers (Jennifer Kelly) of Colonie. Also surviving are her nieces, Debi Seep (Greg), Valerie Baker (John Hafner), Robyn Michela, and nephew Peter Michela. She will also be missed by several great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to her nurses Kurtis, Katey and Jenn, at Van Rensselaer Manor for the compassionate care they provided her in her last days.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
