Judith Ann (Vestal) Walter of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on August 27 at 6:15pm at the age of 83 surrounded by her loved ones at home in O’Fallon, Missouri. Judie, as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Marion, Ohio on May 16, 1942. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Walter, a son Kenneth “Scott” (Jamie) Walter of Chandler, Indiana, daughter Julie (Dave) O’Neal of O’Fallon, Missouri, grandchildren Jonathan O’Neal, Ryan O’Neal, Max Walter and McKenna Walter, sisters Martha DeCicco of Colorado and Carolyn Haskins of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Grace (Wheeler) Vestal, a brother, Freddie Vestal, and an infant daughter.
Judie and John married on April 19, 1964. She had long career as a secretary including positions at The Ohio State University and the School of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She and John traveled to more than 25 countries in support of mission trips through their church and John’s career in the medical field. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and almost never missed a St. Louis Cardinal game on TV, even in the final weeks of her illness. She enjoyed paper crafts and sending homemade cards for every occasion to her family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Harvester Church of the Nazarene, 3115 McClay Rd, St Peters, MO 63376. Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 am at Harvester Church of the Nazarene with a luncheon to follow at the church's Fellowship Hall.
