Judith Helen (Karo) Weston Of
Quincy, MA formerly of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the age of 76.
Judith was born in
Philadelphia, PA the loving and devoted daughter of the late Kurt and Hildegard (Salomon) Karo, both Holocaust survivors, her father from Germany, her mother from Poland. Judith was raised in Vineland, New Jersey, on her family's chicken farm, where her strong work ethic and independence first took root.
After graduating high school, Judith moved for Boston University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Remarkably, she brought her infant son Shaun, with her as she completed her studies and continued her professional work. The beginning of her limitless professional determination. Armed with her degree, Judith became a medical researcher at Mass Eye and Ear, where she contributed to research aimed at preserving and restoring vision. She published several research papers in medical journals and ghostwrote for physicians during a time when women in science often faced barriers to advancement. Her perseverance, intellect, and leadership earned her recognition in her field.
In 1968, Judith married Jeffrey M. Weston, and in 1971 they welcomed their son, Shaun.
In 1988, Judith faced a life-altering challenge when she underwent brain surgery for a tumor. She courageously relearned essential skills including walking, reading, and daily life tasks demonstrating extraordinary resilience and resolve. Following her recovery, she reinvented herself professionally, founding Weston Fine Arts in Braintree.
As an art dealer for individuals and corporations, Judith represented world-renowned artists and curated significant private and corporate collections. One of her most notable commissions came in 1989, when she was hired by Thomas Flatley to design and curate the complete golf-themed art collection for the Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel in Danvers for the LPGA, filling every guest room, hallway, and conference space with works gathered from around the world.
As economic conditions shifted, Judith once again adapted and began a new chapter with Bank of America, where she learned the field of credit card merchant processing. This became her final professional calling for more than 30 years. Through her work with Renaissance Associates, she became a tireless advocate for small businesses serving doctors, dentists, retailers, tradespeople, and entrepreneurs of all kinds. She was known for her unmatched work ethic, constant learning, and fierce commitment to helping the "little guy" succeed and thrive.
Her final merchant account was her grandson's business, Sharon Landscape, a fitting symbol of her lifelong dedication to family and entrepreneurship.
Judith's legacy will continue through charitable efforts supporting women in independent business and merchant empowerment, carried forward through Weston Pay, LLC.
Judith was the mother of Shaun Weston & his wife Fabiana, and was the cherished Omi to her grandsons, Max, Davis and Grant.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted nurse, Silvia, whose care allowed Judith to maintain her independence for more than two years.
Judith will be remembered for her intelligence, resilience, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep devotion to her Jewish faith. She was known for her high standards, her direct candor, her generosity of spirit, and her love of a good hug.
