Funeral services for Judith Bradford Hubbard will be held at St. Luke Church on Saturday, February 28th at 11:00 AM. Senior Pastor Thad Haygood will officiate, and family members will receive friends in Stockwell Hall one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held for the family.
Judy passed away peacefully at Columbus Hospice on February 25th at the age of 83. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in New Orleans, Judy later graduated from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She was a dedicated member of St. Luke Church and her Sunday School class, and an active participant in the Junior League of Columbus and the Della Robbia Garden Club.
Judy shared a deep love for travel with George, exploring Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Galapagos Islands. She also cherished her travels with Arden and Jimmy, the annual Hubbard family reunions in Tennessee, and her time at her home away from home in Ft. Morgan, Alabama. Judy was a dedicated mother, a cherished sister, and a devoted friend whose grace and compassion will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George B. Hubbard; her parents, Dr. Joseph Kenneth Bradford and Dorothy Chattaway Bradford; her sister, Jane Bradford Pippin and her husband Roland; her former sister-in-law, Virginia Huff Parker; and the father of her children, James Blanchard Huff, Jr.
Judy is survived by her children, Arden Huff Cheney (Reynolds) and James Blanchard Huff, Ill; her grandchildren, Dorothy Cheney Parker (Ben), Cecilia Ann Huff, and Nancy Catherine Huff; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth James Parker and Grayson Flournoy Parker. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Bradford Cochrane (Douglas);her brother, Kenneth Bradford (Susan); her nephew, Bradford Warren Pippin (Monica);her step-children, Dr. Baker Hubbard (Karen), Brooks Hubbard, and Jeff Hubbard(Jenny); her brothers-in-law, Al and Bill Hubbard and their wives Kathy and Bea; her sister-in-law, Betha Hubbard Gill (Ray); and members of the Huff family, Bill Huff (Maudie) and Jeanette Huff Arrington (Nelson).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's name to St. Luke Church, Micah's Promise, Mercy Med, or Columbus Hospice.
