Judy Esther Barrett, 84, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 27, 2025, at a local care center. Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Judy will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her unique ability to bring laughter to those around her.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 3:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Judy was born on March 19, 1941, in South Dakota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jensen. She graduated from East High School.
Judy had a fulfilling career as a beautician and was well-known for her engaging presence while selling concessions at the Bingo Hall, or working at the Boy's Club Bingo. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including a game of bingo, gambling, and cherished evenings with family that revolved around good beer and pizza. Her talent for baking and cooking further exemplified her nurturing spirit, leaving lasting memories for those who enjoyed her culinary creations. Judy was also a member of the Sioux City Eagles Club.
She is survived by her children, Paul Barrett, Jill Georgeson, Becky Barrett, and Ronald Barrett. Judy was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as four sisters.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
