I knew of Miss Judy Bell through my father Mario Renteria Sr.
He was the assistant golf pro at the Crestview C.C in Wichita, Ks. For 38 years and I believe had given her golf instruction in her teenage years. Her reputation in Wichita was unheralded by all in the golf world and she and her family were highly respected. I was saddened to read of her death but her legacy will live forever here in the Midwest.

Oh, Judy Bell! - What a warm, kind light in our world. I met Judy through my partner Karima´s introduction, followed by our many visits to see her and dear Kathleen in her Colorado Springs home over the last nine years. From our first meeting, there was a delightful, welcoming acceptance and heartfelt connection that made you feel comfortable and at home, grounded, with her. She "got you." And she enjoyed you.
With all of Judy´s life accomplishments and fame, she was always so sweet and grounded, kind and endearing. I so loved her direct eye-to-eye gaze as she listened and enjoyed you with her heart. And yes! She had a great sense of humor as well! She made you laugh. Judy´s presence seemed to pervade the room. To me, she's an old soul with whom I felt very much "at home" in our hearts. What a wonderful person.
I miss you very much, Judy. You truly are one of a kind. We all love you.

Judy was the most amazing friend and mentor a young lady could ever ask for. Judy was brilliant in business and caring for those she loved, Family and Friends.
CB, I love you. I´m so happy you were able to see her a very short time ago. Please know you and the family are in my prayers.
Judy is in golfer and gourmet heaven with so many that have left us.
Judy will be sorely missed.

I first met Judy as her travel agent back in 1990. I arranged much of her travel until she was no longer able to travel. I´ll admit, Judy was a little scary to me at first - mainly because she was always changing her flights and, on the day of travel, always running late! She had everyone standing on their heads to get her out of town.
But through it all, Judy was always pleasant to everyone and never failed to show her appreciation. Over the years, we became friends and shared many fun times together.
Judy was truly one in a million - with her big personality, wonderful sense of humor, and love for all people. I don´t think I´ve ever known anyone who was so free of judgment and so genuinely loving.
I miss her so much already and will never forget her kindness to me when I needed it most, and all the laughter and good times we shared.

What an honor it was to have known Judy for many years. As work colleague in golf world, business world and primarily a friend. May her memory be eternal!

When working for Judy at A Short Story (while in college and again as a young mother), she instilled in me a work ethic that I still reflect on and follow: There is ALWAYS something to get done or do better; be welcoming, approachable, enthusiastic, and honest.
I have thought of her often throughout the years and I so appreciate the time she spent teaching me how to be the best "me" in all that I do. It has been several years since I last saw her, but I will always remember her and the huge impact she had in my life.

The golf world just scored a bogey with the passing of Judy Bell.
Over the years while living in Colorado Springs I had several occasions
to visit with Judy.
Several years ago, I had Judy autograph a cloth Christmas ornament in the shape of the Broadmoor Hotel. This decoration has proudly decorated our Christmas tree since.
She will be missed by many both on and off the golf course.
