Judy Dianne Strickland Holland, 73, passed away on January 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dianne’s life on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00AM at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church, located at 1232 Hickory Grove Church Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524. The family will receive friends at Hickory Grove immediately following the memorial service.
Dianne was born April 28, 1951, in Smithfield, NC to the late Needham Edward Strickland and Irene Johnson Strickland. Dianne graduated with the last class of Four Oaks High School in 1969. A dedicated wife and mother, she would later have a long and impactful career with the Johnston County Department of Social Services, retiring in 2011 after serving her community directing aid and assistance to many citizens in times of need. In retirement, Dianne would enjoy her hobbies and the company of many friends, served on the Town of Four Oaks Planning Board, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.
Dianne is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donnie “Buck” Holland; daughter, Shelley Allman and husband, Ed of Wilmington; son, Jonathan Holland and wife, Mary of Charlotte; grandchildren, Caroline Muricken and husband, Mathews, Olivia Allman, Henry Holland, and William Holland; sister-in-law, Faye Dalton; and brothers, Randy, Len, and Dennis McLeod, and Eddie Strickland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis W. Strickland.
The family extends a special heartfelt thanks to cousin, DeLaine Jackson; friend, Debbie Jones and husband Ronnie, and brother, Randy and wife Patricia for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, ASPCA, or Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church. The family wishes to recognize the staff of Gentiva Hospice Care for their grace and care.
