Judy M. Grieco passed away Saturday November 1st, 2025, in the Town of Montague, where she lived with her niece and family, under the amazing care of Lewis County Hospice.
Judy was born in Watertown, NY on December 23rd, 1949, to Hermon and Carolyn (Baltz) Lennox. She graduated from South Jefferson High in 1967 before going on to nursing school at BOCES to receive her LPN. She loved her time as a nurse, working for the House of Good Samaritan and then Fort Drum where she eventually retired.
She married Daniel Joseph Grieco Jr. on November 20th, 1971, at St. Anthony's or Watertown. Along side her husband, she helped work at Grieco's Brass Rail until 1979 and then helped run the New Carlier Restaurant in Chaumont, NY for several years.
Judy is survived by her older sister, Sallie Lennox, of Syracuse, her brother Tim (Trina) Lennox, and many nieces and nephews, as well as 15 great nieces and nephews.
Judy is predeceased by her husband, Daniel Grieco, both parents, her sister Rochelle Lennox, her brother Doug Lennox, and her nephew Scott Lennox.
Judy and her husband spent much of their time traveling, spending most of their winters in Florida together before moving back to New York a few years ago. Throughout the years Judy spoke about how much she enjoyed going hunting and fishing, and how she would often go with her father and husband. She enjoyed being around friends and family, having a good time, and loved a cold beer. She always spoke of Tug Hill and riding snowmobiles in her early years living in Barnes Corners. She made it a personal goal to be the first person to race across the Chaumont Bay on her snowmobile when it would freeze every year while residing there.
Judy was definitely full of love for animals, especially her dog Bucko, who predeceases her. Judy loved going out for ice cream and cheese curds with her sister Sallie this past summer, and stopping to visit with her brother Tim. In the last month, she enjoyed spending time with her great nieces Katrina, Johanna, and Ellie-Mae. They were always playing games, eating snacks, and laughing together. Anyone who had a chance to meet her knew she was always full of life a lot of laughs, and endless love. Judy was definitely the light in every room she entered with her jokes and spunk. She will be greatly missed.
Per Judy's request, there will be no services.
Arrangements are being made with Cleveland Funeral Home in Watertown, NY. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Hospice of Lewis County.
