Judy Harris (Shoopman) was born on March 1, 1942, in Sidney, NE, to Vernon Thomas Shoopman and Mildred Iola Shoopman. She passed away surrounded by love and memories that will live on through her family and friends.
Judy had a passion for life that she expressed through her creativity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her community. She loved volunteering, crafting, and especially playing music. Her years performing with the Millard Musil Band were a source of great joy, and her love of music was something she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
She was especially proud of her many years volunteering with the Sidney Oktoberfest, a tradition she supported for over 40 years. Judy's spirit and hard work became a beloved part of the celebration, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
In her younger years, Judy was a proud and active member of the Jaycees, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Ladies Chamber. Whether she was cooking up a storm or building floats for parades, Judy was always at the heart of the action-bringing people together with her infectious laugh and generous spirit.
She spent many fulfilling years working with Wheatbelt and Cheyenne County, forming lasting friendships and serving her community with pride.
On July 7, 1960, Judy married the love of her life, Burton Harris. Together they built a home filled with music, laughter, and love.
Judy is survived by her children: Charles Harris, Steven (wife Regina) Harris, Tim Harris, and Sally Harris. She was a proud grandmother to James Anderson, Jeanie (husband Jeff) Quick, and Christopher (wife Chera) Gabis. Her great-grandchildren, Micah and Max Quick, and Collins Gabis, brought her endless joy.
Preceding her in death are her parents Vernon and Mildred Shoopman, Verna Gilbreath, and Ardyce Zalesky.
Judy's life was a beautiful symphony of joy, service, and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
