Judy Hogan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Judy Ann Hogan was born on March 5, 1951, and passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 74.
A devoted and faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Greater Houston, Judy lived her life rooted in her belief and commitment to her family and serving others. Her faith guided her daily actions, and she was known throughout her church family for her joyful spirit, encouraging words, and steadfast courage.

Above all, Judy deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was at the center of her world, and she lived to spend time with them; traveling together, celebrating holidays, and creating moments that will now live on as treasured memories. Whether gathered around a table eating or playing dominoes, on a trip, or simply enjoying time together, she found her greatest joy in being present with those she loved so dearly.

Judy had a wonderful sense of humor and could bring laughter into any room. Her joy was contagious, and her loving heart made everyone feel welcome and valued. One of her greatest joys was cooking for others, meals prepared with care that brought people together and created lasting memories.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Hogan; children, Duana Sargent and husband Reverend Darin Sargent, and Virgil Duane Hodges and wife Krista; grandchildren, Carson Sargent and wife Emily, Ashton Qual and husband Hunter, Averie Sargent, Ty Hodges and Mackenzie Smith, and Devin Hodges; great grandchildren, Camryn and Westley; siblings, Janis Tubbe, Rickey Snider and wife Regina, Ronnie Snider and wife Debbie, and Sheila Tennant.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Glenn Moore and Billie Tubbe, and sister, Nita Whitehouse.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at First Pentecostal Church of Greater Houston, 23915 US-59 Kingswood, Texas 77339. Reverend Joel McCoy and Reverend Darin Sargent will be officiating.

In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Christian School of First Pentecostal Church of Greater Houston. Donations may be made online. https://porterapc.org/give/
