Judy Foster Humphrey

Judy Foster Humphrey, born on July 13, 1946, in Gaston County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy lived a life filled with love and devotion as a wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed her profession as a licensed beautician, relishing every moment until the birth of her daughter, at which point she retired to embrace the rewarding role of a stay-at-home mom. Judy dedicated herself to her family, finding immense joy in spending time with them. Her pride in her children was evident, and they were undoubtedly among her proudest accomplishments.

An avid decorator, Judy had a remarkable talent for transforming spaces and her home bore witness to her creative flair. She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she deeply appreciated her Pastor, Jan Deans.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Ken Humphrey, and their children Allison Christina Humphrey, Jeffery Scott Humphrey, and Timothy Graham Humphrey. She also leaves behind her cherished grandson, Nathan Humphrey, along with many wonderful friends who filled her life with joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Rae Foster and Beulah Mae Scruggs Foster; her granddaughter, Jessica Humphrey; and a sister, Patsy Goebel.

Judy's legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will forever be remembered by those she left behind. A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday,  September 29, 2025, at  4:00 p.m.at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia, NC, with Reverend Jan Deans officiating  the family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate her life and the many ways she touched us all.
